Workshop with Lucas Carvalho | September 11th– 17th 2025

Lucas Carvalho, a trained psychologist from Brazil, began his yoga journey in 2007 and decided to travel to Mysore in 2013 to get to know India and practise Ashtanga Yoga at KPJAYI. After his first contact with Sharath Jois in the same year, Lucas practiced traditional Mysore style six times a week. Since then he has dedicated himself exclusively to the Ashtanga method and has studied and assisted with various KPJAYI certified teachers. On the third trip to Mysore in 2015/2016, he was authorized by Sharath Jois Level 2 and had the great honor and opportunity to assist Sharath Jois during his classes at KPJAYI.
Lucas runs an international online Mysore program and regularly visits numerous shalas in Latin America and Europe to teach workshops. In 2024 Lucas was in Freiburg for the first time. His style is unique, he recognizes the potential of his students and gives everyone the opportunity to discover it for themselves. The energy in the room is intense and full of compassion.

Char-Dham-Yatra with Christina Hug | 24. September -13. October

The Char-Dham Yatra is more than just a pilgrimage – it is a journey of the soul. This sacred odyssey leads to four very special temples in the Indian Himalayas, each with profound spiritual significance: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. It is said that visiting these temples cleanses our sins and brings us closer to the Divine. The journey through the Himalayas itself is an impressive experience that immerses us in the purity and tranquility of nature, revealing the beauty of God's creation.
Yamunotri, our first stop, is dedicated to the goddess Yamuna. According to ancient tradition, Yamuna – the sister of Yama, the god of death – blesses those who bathe in her sacred waters and frees them from the fear of death. Nestled in the Himalayas, this temple radiates a pure and divine energy that cleanses the hearts and souls of believers.
Gangotri marks the holy descent of the river Ganga from heaven to earth. The legend of King Bhagiratha's intense penance and Ganga's arrival to atone for his ancestors' sins is a testament to divine compassion and grace. The temple stands as a symbol of the holiness and purity of Ganga, whose waters cleanse the soul and elevate the spirit.
The third stop, Kedarnath, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Surrounded by majestic mountains, this ancient temple is said to have been built by the Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata. After the great war of Kurukshetra, they sought Shiva's blessing to atone for their sins. Shiva appeared here in the form of a bull, and his divine presence continues to bless devotees with forgiveness and spiritual strength.
The final stop, Badrinath, is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to mythology, Vishnu meditated here for thousands of years under the Badri tree, radiating divine energy and grace. Adi Shankaracharya, the great spiritual reformer, restored this temple and made it one of the most revered sites for those seeking enlightenment and liberation.
Itinerary
September 24 – 30: Rishikesh
At the beginning of the Yatra, we will gather in the serene foothills of the Himalayas to create a space for transformation together. Each morning we will practice Ashtanga Mysore style yoga, followed by lessons in Vedic chanting later on. During this time, we will experience breathtaking sunsets, admire snow-capped mountains, visit temples and cultural events, as well as explore Rishikesh and its surroundings. These experiences will help us let go of distractions and immerse ourselves in the energy of the retreat. These initial days serve to ground us and align our intentions while fostering presence, connection, and inner stillness.
October 1 – 13: Char Dham
We begin our journey into the mountain peaks of the Himalayas and explore some of Uttarakhand's most revered temples. Our first stop is Yamunotri, which involves a day hike to reach the source of the Yamuna River. Next, we will visit Gangotri, which is accessible by car. Along the way, we may not always have opportunities for group yoga practice; there may be days when travel itself becomes our practice. However, there will always be moments to reconnect with ourselves through movement, gathering strength and reflection.
The next stop is Kedarnath, which requires a two-day trek. This is undoubtedly the most challenging part of our journey but also one of its most rewarding aspects. Kedarnath lies at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) in Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand. Due to its location in Garhwal Himalayas, temperatures remain cold year-round with sub-zero conditions during winter months.
After a rest day at Kedarnath we will reach our final destination: Badrinath where we have an opportunity to bathe in Tapt Kund—a natural hot spring located right before the temple.
Prices:
- Double room with 2-3 meals per day: €2,200
- Single room with 2-3 meals per day: €2,600
The prices do not include optional helicopter rides or mule rentals for Kedarnath or taxi transfers from Delhi or Dehradun to Rishikesh. Accommodation in Kedarnath will be in dormitories shared with 3-4 people; single rooms are available in Rishikesh but not at all stops along Yatra.

INR 3,500 – 5,000 per pony / INR 7,500 – 9,000 per palki
Pony/Palki rates for Kedarnath:
INR 5,500 – 7,000 per pony / INR 7,500 – 10,000 per palki
